THE SHORT ANSWER
Start with one lecture and a small set of important questions. Memoriser can help draft the cards and schedule reviews; you decide what belongs in the deck and verify the answers.
Start with your notesStart from your course, not an empty deck
Paste notes or upload a supported document. Choose a focused topic so you can check the output against a source you know. Your first deck should be small enough to inspect in one sitting.
Compare the questions with the lecture objectives. Remove interesting but irrelevant details and add important points that were missed. Generated coverage is not a guarantee of exam coverage.
Make a question you can actually grade
“Explain the whole chapter” is difficult to answer and rate. Ask for one definition, distinction or relationship at a time. Keep enough context in the cue that there is a clear intended answer.
Example: instead of “Everything about the accounting equation”, ask “Assets = Liabilities + …”. The answer is “Equity”. Use a separate question to practise what each term means.
Use your review to improve the deck
Try to answer before revealing. Rate your recall honestly, and edit questions that were confusing rather than treating every miss as a memory failure.
Memoriser uses FSRS to schedule later reviews. Introduce new material at a pace you can sustain, and use study days, breaks and exam goals to plan around your available time.
Keep assessment practice in the plan
For a problem-based subject, pair fact recall with worked problems. For an essay subject, practise building an argument and retrieving examples without the cards in front of you.
Before a deadline, check your course specification and practice tasks for gaps. Neither an AI draft nor a completed deck certifies that you are ready for an assessment.
